About this event

Major League Pickleball (MLP) style program/tournament will run over a 7-week period beginning the week of October 13 through the week of December 1.

Matches will be played once a week on Thursday or Saturday at 2:30 PM. (moves to 2:00 PM effective October 27 with the NEW Winter Schedule). There will be no play Thanksgiving week.

MLP is comprised of two leagues based on player’s skill-level; the Challenger League (3.0+ to 3.5 skill-level) and the Premier League (3.5+ to 4.25 skill-level). There will be 8 teams per league. Each league will be comprised of eight teams consisting of two men and two women per team. The eight teams will play each other once over a seven-week period playing one match/week.  Teams will be chosen through a "draft" from the registered players by the team captains as soon as registration is closed. If you are not selected in the initial draft, you may select at time of registration to be on the sub list.

Players are highly encouraged to consider their player skill-level when registering for the league; the club may move players up and/or down as appropriate to obtain a more balanced skill-based playing opportunity for all league participants.

All teams must have a designated team captain; if you are interested in being a team captain, please select that option on the registration. Team Captains will participate in the MLP Draft for selection of players, and their duties include, but are not limited to: having a hard copy of the rules at all matches, bringing a blank copy of the Score Sheet to each match, ensuring team players are knowledgeable of the rules, communicating with the league, participating and making selections during the coin toss, communicating the mixed doubles and ScreamBreaker™ lineups to the other team captain, and challenges to the league.

Substitutes are a critical part of MLP and teams are constantly in need of them during the season. The league will have an approved substitute list on the website for each division to ensure that substitute’s skill levels match those of the division in which they will be participating. Players who would like to play in MLP but aren’t able to make the full season may register as a Substitute only.
